Who we are
The Rug Shop is the latest project from the husband & wife team, Jamal + Kristina Santamauro.
They have been operating Concentric Carpet, an established custom firm that has been serving designers & architects for more than a decade. Jamal is an expert in weaving styles and has an uncanny eye for color, with 3 decades of textile experience. He's been traveling around the world to rug weaving centers since 2010, developing relationships with mills in Nepal, Morocco, India, China, and Thailand. Kristina studied finance & public affairs, while running the essential elements of a family business. Along the way she fell in love with textiles and their surrounding cultures with deep fascination, driving her to learn about the people who make their rugs.
The Rug Shop is their passion project to bring one-of-a-kind hand woven art pieces to the home.
Formerly located on Main Street in Saugerties, NY - now in beautiful Charleston, SC. Open for private viewings. Carrying a curated collection of hand-made Moroccan rugs with a wide range of various recycled & vintage styles, and with new custom commissions available to Interior Designers.
